One product, one promise
We install one thing — and that focus is the point.
The Interlock® Lifetime Roofing System: interlocked aluminum panels made in Canada by Interlock Roofing Ltd. We are not a general roofing company that also offers metal. This system is all we do.
The Maritimes are hard on a roof in their own ways. Salt air and fog come in off the water, Atlantic winter storms and post-tropical storms drive rain sideways under lifted shingle tabs, and long shoulder seasons bring freeze-thaw cycles and heavy wet snow. Aluminum forms a protective oxide layer and cannot rust, absorbs no water, is light on the framing of an older house, and locks on four sides with the fasteners covered. Ice dams come from heat escaping the attic and from ventilation, not from the roofing itself, so we look at insulation and venting with you before we quote. Every roof carries the manufacturer's Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty, which transfers once when you sell.

Where we stand
One system, made in Canada, installed by our Maritimes company since 2007
One system
We install the Interlock® Lifetime Roofing System and nothing else: aluminum panels made by Interlock Roofing Ltd., locked on all four edges and fastened out of the weather. Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd. is the certified Interlock® roofing contractor for the Maritimes.
Since 2007
Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd. was founded on January 4, 2007. Interlock® roofs have been going on Maritime homes since 1995, and our job book carries that whole history: 5,581 roofs, 3,734 in Nova Scotia, 1,417 in New Brunswick and 430 on Prince Edward Island. The most common profile in it is the legacy Interlock Shingle, which is no longer sold; today's line-up is Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile and Standing Seam.
Made in Canada
The panels are manufactured by Interlock Roofing Ltd. at its plant in Delta, BC. Made in Canada, installed in the Maritimes by our own Maritimes company: the people who sell your roof, install it and answer for it are the same Maritimes team.
One office, three provinces
Our one office is in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in Burnside, and it serves Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Each province has its own website with its own town pages. Our busiest towns in the job book are Dartmouth, Halifax and Fredericton.
Checkable
Check any roofer before you sign, us included. In all three Maritime provinces a company that sells to you at your home must be a licensed direct seller, and the salesperson should be able to show you that licence: Nova Scotia under the Direct Sellers' Regulation Act, New Brunswick through the Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB), and Prince Edward Island under the Direct Sellers Act. In Nova Scotia and PEI you can cancel a direct sale within 10 days of receiving the contract. Ask for a workers' compensation clearance letter (WCB Nova Scotia, WorkSafeNB or the Workers Compensation Board of PEI), proof of liability insurance, a written contract and a warranty you can read in full.

Our own proof, nobody else's
Every review on this site is from a homeowner in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island, 727 of them. Nothing is borrowed from another region to make the page look fuller, and the job book behind our roof count lists Maritimes roofs only.
A warranty that transfers
The manufacturer's Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty covers material and finish for as long as the original purchaser owns the home, and transfers once. Workmanship is excluded; our own 10 Year Limited Labour Warranty covers the installation. The labour warranty is not transferable and excludes hurricane-force winds, wind storms, hail, ice damming and snow and ice shedding. Read the terms and the exclusions before you sign; we'd rather you heard them from us.

FAQs
About us, answered directly
Who installs Interlock metal roofs in the Maritimes?
Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd., from 101 Thornhill Dr #105, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1S2. We are the certified Interlock® roofing contractor for the Maritimes, founded in 2007, and we serve Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island from that one office.
Is Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd. the same company as the manufacturer?
No. Interlock Roofing Ltd. manufactures the panels at its plant in Delta, BC and issues the Guardian material warranty. We are the Maritimes company that sells and installs them, from our office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Do you have an office in Halifax, Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John or Charlottetown?
No. Our only office is in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and it serves all of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Consultations are on Zoom or at your home.
How long have Interlock roofs been installed in the Maritimes?
Since 1995. Our job book records 5,581 Interlock® roofs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, the first from 1995. Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd. itself was founded in 2007.
What should I check before hiring a roofer in the Maritimes?
A company that sells to you at your home must be a licensed direct seller in Nova Scotia (Direct Sellers' Regulation Act), New Brunswick (licensed and bonded with the Financial and Consumer Services Commission) and Prince Edward Island (Direct Sellers Act); ask to see the licence. In Nova Scotia and PEI you can cancel a direct sale within 10 days of receiving the contract. Also ask for a workers' compensation clearance letter from WCB Nova Scotia, WorkSafeNB or the Workers Compensation Board of PEI, proof of liability insurance, a written contract and a warranty you can read.
Which parts of the Maritimes do you serve?
Nova Scotia: Halifax Region, the Annapolis Valley, the South Shore, the North Shore, Cape Breton, the Eastern Shore and Western Nova Scotia. New Brunswick: Greater Moncton and the Southeast, Greater Saint John, the Fredericton Capital Region, the Fundy Coast, the Southwest, the Upper Saint John River and Woodstock corridor, and Miramichi. Prince Edward Island: Charlottetown and Central PEI, Summerside and West PEI, the North Shore and Cavendish, and Eastern PEI. Newfoundland and Labrador is not part of our service area.
How does an Interlock roof handle Maritime storms and salt air?
Wind resistance is warranted to 193 km/h (120 mph), installed to manufacturer specification, and the panels lock on all four sides with the fasteners concealed. Aluminum forms a protective oxide layer and cannot rust, which matters in salt air near the coast. Storms here can exceed any rating: Fiona, on September 24, 2022, caused over $800 million in insured damage, the most costly extreme weather event recorded in Atlantic Canada (Insurance Bureau of Canada, CatIQ data, January 5, 2023). Hurricane-force wind damage is a matter for your home insurance and is excluded from our labour warranty.
Has Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd. won any awards?
Yes. Maritime Metal Roofing Ltd. won the 2026 GuildQuality GuildMaster Award for service excellence, which is based on surveys of the company's own customers. We are also a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating and a Baeumler Approved contractor.
Who manufactures the roofing you install?
Interlock Roofing Ltd., in Canada. The panels are heavy-gauge aluminum, interlock on all four edges and carry the Alunar® coating system. The manufacturer publishes its test reports and certifications at interlockroofing.com.
Does a metal roof help with wildfire risk on a wooded or rural property?
It can be part of it. Class A Fire Rated Available, as a complete assembly (two layers of GAF VersaShield® over 12 mm (15/32-inch) plywood, per ASTM E108; the Canadian standard is CAN/ULC-S107), and aluminum does not ignite. No roof is fireproof: embers get into gutters, vents and gaps at the roof edge, so the details around the roof matter as much as the panels.
